NFA Trust post in the NFA section
Don't mean to drop in, so if it's considered a d-rail please let me know and I will start another but; I am wondering why people use an attorney versus an online Do-it-yourself or an LLC? Cheaper this way and not to hard, just wondering if I am missing something......
It was explained to me that a trust will protect the NFA items better than an LLC. I don't remember the details. A lot of folks are under the impression that a lawyer will draw up a more detailed and specific trust that will protect your items better than a canned trust generated from software (e.g. Willmaker). That said, I've found several instances on the net of people describing using Willmaker to make their NFA trust.
An LLC just has to be paid for every year, that's the downfall. As for the trust it is just protecting the NFA items which isn't to detailed. An online will save you a lot of$$$ and cover ya just fine. I would say do online and maybe have a paralegal review but that is my $.02.
