Seems to me there are a lot of valid issues addressed.
Repost.
Bethlehem, PA??? That is the best/biggest department ABC News could find to work with them on a national story? Really???
Most of the US wanders about in a permanent state ignorant bliss. I'm glad to have served with men an women who help provide the safety necessary for that ignorance.
For most of the world, Life is short, cruel, and unforgiving.
Be safe.
definetly a repost.
As usual, mass media has an outcome in mind and sets out to build a story to that outcome.
i thought it was pretty interesting i would have liked to see what an actual ccw holder with his rig and not that goofy holster could have done
This is what...3? 4 years old now?
It's been pointed out before, but the "active shooter" appears to know exactly where the "armed citizen" is and targets them immediately after he shoots the instructor.
I watched this a while back and didn't re-watch it this time. From memory I believe they set up all the scenarios as quick draw type of events. IMHO, it usually doesn't go down like the wild wild west.
For instance (from memory) the classroom shooting, they sat the test subject down in the front row, middle. After the attacker shoots the teacher, he then targets the only person with a gun, knowing he is the only person with the gun (so that he could make him realize that he was helpless even with a gun).
I don't carry a gun because I think it is a magic shield that protects me. If a situation like that occurs, and I'm next on the guys list, chances are I'm not going to have time to outdraw, while seated, a person who already has their gun out. My time is my time.
I (and my wife) carry because it gives us a CHANCE to defend ourselves vs just being a helpless victim.
Also, I don't sit in the middle of the classroom. When I go the restaurant I prefer a table in the back. When I sit down, I face the door.
Carrying a weapon creates a mindset of knowing your surroundings, sizing up the environment, NOT being helpless victim, and feeling secure in the knowledge that I have done everything I can do to protect myself and my loved ones (but also knowing....shit happens...)
I hated that video and I didn't watch it today so I wouldn't ruin my day.
