Response from Sheriff Darr (Adams County)

A few days ago I wrote Sheriff Darr an email to try to get his stance on our 2nd amendment rights. I'm not sure what to make of it other than I think he's riding the fence.


"Hello Mr. ****,
Although there has been a lot of discussion, I have not yet seen a document outlining the details of new gun legislation to be considered by the Colorado General Assembly. I suspect we will see a draft fairly soon. I consider myself a supporter of and an advocate for the 2nd Amendment rights of our citizens. That said, I do believe we need to take a critical look at the seemingly escalating gun violence in this state and country and find a sensible and solid approach to keep our kids and neighborhoods safe. The coming debate is going to be pretty intense but I do plan to listen a lot and express my point of view when the time comes. I hope you are well. Regards, Sheriff Doug Darr"
