We lost a lot of good men 64 years ago today [Salute]
Thanks for the reminder 7idl. This was one of the largest events that ever took place in world history and was the begininng of the end for Hitler. We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to those who served on that day and all of the days since. Thank you all.
If you're a Ranger get up and lead the way!
We took two airplanes over there in 2004 for the 60th Anniversary. We picked up about 100 Rangers/Pathfinders from Ft Campbell and airdropped them on Sainte-Mère-Église on the 5th. On the 6th we all had the day off to get out and see the sights and talk with more Vets.
The evening of 5 June was a big celebration and huge get together for all the vets. Too meet these men and hear their stories was just incredible. I hope to get there again soon. Maybe take a nephew so maybe he will understand things and take less for granted.
I took about a bizillion pics, but here is a few.
