Side to side play Between Upper and lower

First off I am pretty new to the AR platform so for my first gun I bought a DDM4 instead of trying to build my own. I didn't notice it at first but after shooting it a few times I noticed some slight side to side play between the upper and lower. I lurked around and saw others that have had this problem as well. It seems like most people just suggest to embrace it and not to worry as it won't really effect anything seriously. Others have suggested to use an accuwedge. I'm pretty nit picky on how any type of gun feels in my hands so I was probably going to give the accuwedge a try. Just wanted to see what some of you more experienced shooters opinions were on the accuwedge.

It's just the nature of the beast. If she shoots good I'd just learn to ignore it. Upper to lower fit varies quite a bit from one to the next. The accuwedge thing won't hurt anything but will probably do more for vertical movement than the side to side play you are describing.

It's not OCD when it's a concern about my precious baby. :P

the acceptable limit (per the Army's M4 specs) is something like .02, but I can't remember if it's in inches or mm...... the armorers have a little gap gauge to tell whether or not its in spec...

in any case, a little wiggle won't hurt accuracy or durability...

$10 and 5 minutes to install 2 shims for a rock solid no receivers play rifle?
