Anyone hear about a formal effort to get signatures for a ballot initiative to repeal HB1224
Follow Patriots and just all around believers in freedom from harassment by legislators. I know there are efforts underway to try and remove some Dems from Colorado posts but I don't feel like that is going to be successful so I am hoping we get enough sane people to just vote them out in November. I had also heard talk after 1224 passed about getting a ballot initiative added so we can have the people vote to undo this stupid law [Bang]. Anyone heard if one of the major organizations is actively putting wording together and coordinating efforts to get signatures? I would certainly volunteer to be one of them to collect signatures in Centennial!
The rules for a ballot initiative require -
The number of signatures required for a successful petition is equal to 5% of the total number of votes cast for the office of Secretary of State in the preceding general election. The same number of signatures is required for constitutional amendments, statutes, and referendums.
