Mark LaRue (personally) spent about two hours with me helping me with my rifle. The end result is a sub-MOA rifle that weighs a whopping 7.7 lbs without optic and bipod.
I got invited behind the curtain, and it was magical!!

I was hoping stuff was working out on your end....Belly.... good to hear about the positive news about the magical experience.
Nice, brother.
Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow.
Peace, bitches.

Wb 70 accident just before the start of the Kipling exit. 1 car and 1 truck in the left lane partially on the shoulder. Almost a complete stop but you guys might want to avoid wb 70 for a while. Roads are fine just wet. Be safe guys!
I showed up unannounced on Monday. I told them I didn't understand things and that I wanted the gun to run.
yesterday I spent about two hours with Mark LaRue and some of his engineers and we had a good chat and some range time.
im a nerd at heart, so I asked the nerdy questions. The right people were there to give me the nerdy answers.
The end result is that Mark asked to buy it back. A couple other folks there also offered to buy it to put it in their personal inventories as well.
I hate bureaucratic bullshiz!
New project wants me to submit a letter of intent to leave my current position without giving me a written offer for the new position. They say they can't do that until my supervisor starts searching for a replacement for me. My supervisor says he can't start searching for a replacement until I give him a letter of intent to leave. [facepalm]
All the while, work keeps piling up on my desk for the new position (at a ridiculous rate), but I can't work on it yet because I am not on the new projects' payroll.
I use to work for the state , it's worse than the .mil at least in service you know it's in triplicate. The state seems to feel it needs to go through your dept, up the dept ladder, then back down. 2 months later, it's too late. Especially when all you wanted was approval to relocate an item from room 101 to room 102[facepalm]
Zilch. The new project has stated multiple times over that it will only succeed with me in this position. I am the only person in the world (not exaggerating) who has seen all aspects of this instrument from installing at the mountain, to doing engineering work inside the instrument (in clean room conditions), to deploying their fiber optics train, to fully populating all 8 containers with fiber optics, to daily maintenance/debugging/feeding, to observing with the instrument.
My new position will be to create all the hardware between the telescope and the instrument, then train the chilean observers/day-staff on everything I designed in addition to daily maintenance of the instrument, then to work side by side with the instrument designer to build the instrument (assuming we get the funds, which its looking promising), then installing the new instrument at the new telescope and spending 6mo getting first light and going through commissioning.
It's just extremely frustrating! Give me a signed letter of offer for the new position and I'll happily submit my letter of resignation/intent and start working on the new project ASAP.
On the plus side, I finally got to use my new Bravo Concealment DOS holster and all I have to say is WOW! Not sure if its the location, but it truly does make the pistol disappear! At first I just tried it with a slightly small dark t-shirt and even I couldn't tell that I was carrying.
Sitting down is a little uncomfortable, but I might just need to move the holster slightly left/right on my belt. But with how comfortable and easy to conceal it is compared to my Crossbreed Supertucks (with glock 23), I'll actually enjoy carrying and won't be so worried about printing!
So, what was the outcome though? Was the rifle really shooting off due to a hardware issue, or was it just ammo? I guess I could understand Mark wanting to buy it back, but how does that do you any good if it's your only rifle (though I know it isn't) and you'd have to wait 1yr or more for a new one. He should have taken you to the assembly line and let you pick out a brand new shiny one [LOL]
And by shiny, I mean tactically shiny... not bling bling shiny.
I'm glad they eventually worked it out with you, Belly.
I hope your other personal issue a few nights back got resolved as well.
BC, bummer on the job jam you're in right now. I hope that stuff gets ironed out pretty darn quick too.
How's your knee doing?
Oh, and I'm glad you're digging the holster you've been waiting on for a long time is working out to your liking.
I had my final visit today with both the PT guy and the surgeon. Everybody's happy with the progress thus far.
I just have to keep doing my recommended therapy, and in "about" three more months I can start messing with heavier objects. 50 lb rotors and 80 lb tire/wheels...crap like that.
Hey gang, how's it kickin' tonight?
Yo, HB.
Still got your folks visiting?

Didi the therapy dog is guarding the rifle in between dry-firing strings.
Nope they left Monday night. It was a good visit. We went to the AF vs Notre Dame game, walked around Garden of the Gods and Red Rocks Open Space, and they spent lots of time with their only grand kid. Dad and I went to the range for the first time in years and he is now convinced he wants an AR-15. Good time was had by all. [Flower]
Belly, that is a neato picture... lol.
HB, I'm glad to hear everything was Tops....cool, man.
Knee is doing much better, have worked up to running 2min, walking 1min for 15min total. Tomorrow is my last PT day, had a follow-up with the doc today and will have a final consultation with the workers comp rep sometime, with the doc too.
Oh it is spectacular! Still hurts when I sit down though, need to figure that out. Also, at the moment when I wear it more than about 4hrs, it starts rubbing into my skin a little bit and gets annoying. I'm sure the holster will wear me in though lol.
Congrats! That's excellent news!!

We're getting back to normal, BC.....that'll be nice indeed.
Nice pic of a great time with Dad.....very cool HB.
