Bogie, if it makes you feel any better, I once (this year) had to layover in Denver on my way from Columbus to SLC and the flight got delayed four hours. SIX hours in my home airport and I couldn't go home.
That was the suck.
My last trip was on 9-11 through 9-14 and on approach in SFO on 9-11, 300' off the deck, we aborted. Fun.
