Went with a friend Saturday to do some last minute scouting for his upcoming black powder Moose hunt starting Sep 9.
Hiked in and saw tons of sign all around his chosen area. Superhighway game trails. Moose, Elk, Deer, (and bear) scat and fresh track for both Moose and Elk. He's taken Elk in there before and knows the area pretty well.

Not this one. It's a bone stock Inland, from the worn finish, matching #'s etc. The way she was shooting, w rds would just add unnecessary weight, plus as the eyes get older more of a hindrance, than help. Interesting idea, however, for someone wanting a different defensive carbine.Quote:

The granny types out here are running Staccato's, STI's , full size 1911's VP9's. Carbines run from a PSA, to LWRC's and DD's. Last of my clients i saw over at tombstone was going to lunch to see if she could make up her mind between the POF, or DD carbine. Her sidearm's are the kimber Ultra Carry II or CZ PO-1. These ladies don't fool around, especially the AWA one's. They're more geared up than most " tier 1" wannabe's . It's interesting how many woman (of all ages) take their training seriously out here.Quote:

Been having a rough Aug/Sept.
ER three Xs in four weeks in Aug. BP 54 over 52, O2 77%...they sent the wife out of the room just in case. Four broken metatarsals L foot, among other things. Repaired three vehicles engine wiring from rats eating them...and installing strobe/sound emitters and spraying spearmint spray on all the wiring. I've trapped at least six of those little fuckers since then and two skunks, all of which got "repurposed" in the arroyo :).
Kid is coming down for his annual visit next week, it'll be good to spend some time with him for a bit.
