Well I'm beside myself with excitement!
Back in June we put our English Shepherd, Thatcher, down (he was 14yrs, 7.5mo) (post in this thread here).
Well we put money down on a puppy a few months ago and today mama whelped and has dropped 4 puppies so far (2 male, 2 female ... there could be 1-2 more in the next 24 hours). We're first in line for the males (the females are already spoken for before birth).
So far they're all clear sables (so they'll look more like mama. We were hoping for a dark sable like papa, but color is secondary to personality).

Thatcher was a tri color and his predecessor, Murphy, was B&W so I'm kinda glad we're getting a different coloring.
New dog is going to be named Zeke and he should be coming home mid March.

Here's a pic of the previous litter
the clear sables are like the one on the right and the one on the bottom. The dark sables are like the one in the middle of the two tri-colors. Thatcher was a tri (and Murphy, his predecessor, was a B&W) so I'm kinda glad we're getting different coloring. I mean just look at those little faces! OMG!

My FiL just adopted this little girl. I'm smitten, good thing I didn't go to the rescue event with him or I would have come home with one of her brothers.

Family got a new pup. (Our 3rd)
My 3 kids have been on me because they think they each need their own dog and finally wore me down.
So here's Pepper the black lab from Hideaway Kennels in Calhan. She joins our GSP and Brittany to make an official pack.

Damn we need a "like" button!!! Great looking pups everyone. I'm thinking this summer or fall will be the time to bring another pup into my home. I'll be leaving the company I work for this year, will still do something part-time but I'll have more time to devote to training and spoiling another pooch.

FFS... I just got two puppies raised up out of the PITA stage and now these pics are making me want more. I'm truly insane...

We go pick up the pup tomorrow (more pics to come).
Here's one taken a couple days ago by the breeder and one with some of the puppies with Grandma (not sure which puppies are which since they're all clear sables).

Well, balls. Just lost the best friend I've ever had. Had to have my boy Snoopy put down, damned kidneys gave out on him. He's been sick for far too long - not eating, hardly drinking, losing weight, lethargic, just miserable. Had to let him go.
Goodbye Snooper, I'll always love you.
