It's all one bank account that my toy money comes out of. I get a limited amount every paycheck. So buy rifle when I get the money and wait several more months to be able to shoot it, or buy bullets and brass while still researching and then when I get rifle I can take it out.
Hey Belly, got a scope mag range recommendation for a 308 (AR platform)?
But I see your point. Probably best to get my hands on the rifle first, I can always dryfire the crap out of it while waiting to take it shooting. I also do have a few (like 3-4) range pickup .308 brass I can use if needed.
Head to range. Shoot 3 rounds. Adjust scope. Go home. Reload 3 rounds. Head to range. Shoot 3 rounds. Adjust scope again. Go home. Reload 3 rounds. Hmm, I guess thats doable.
Dude... If its one bank account, then if you save faster, then you can literally buy the gun faster.
I thought you understood the logic behind that. Save your lunch money, your soda money (soda is bad anyways), your redbox DVD money, ALL OF IT. Until you want that gun as much as you need the next breath of air in your lungs, you don't want it bad enough.
now drop and give me twenty!
I'm digging the 168 SMK for target shooting BC. A gold standard I guess.. Although I've been shooting the 147 FMJBT recently too. A bit cheaper to shoot, especially the pulls.
Do you have neighbors with unsecured internet?
Yes.
what distance do you want to shoot?
a good recommendation is either this because of the sweet reticle (and they are good scopes):
http://www.midwayusa.com/product/941...-reticle-maTte
or this for something similar:

or if you're looking for something that's pretty bomb proof:

Ive shot an ipsc steel target out to 1k with the last one and a 16" barrel. I even hit it once or twice!
Beats my internet. Stupid clearwire.
The first thing I did when soldiers would come to my office and say they're having money problems is I tell them to bring me a copy of their bank ledger. All of them. They get all offended, and I tell them I can fix their money problems once and for all, and they bring them in.
then I tell them where they are being wasteful. They get upset and say that they can't live without their giant car payments, fancy stereos, huge rims, enormous cell phone bills, etc., etc.
they usually come around when I tell them that I don't support them getting a loan until they trim some of the fat off their own living. It is very hard to be my subordinate. I will absolutely crush your soul......
Oh, someone brought this up earlier, so I didn't want anyone to feel left out of the loop:
To be, or not to be, that is the question—
Whether 'tis Nobler in the mind to suffer
The Slings and Arrows of outrageous Fortune,
Or to take Arms against a Sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them? To die, to sleep—
No more; and by a sleep, to say we end
The Heart-ache, and the thousand Natural shocks
That Flesh is heir to? 'Tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wished. To die, to sleep,
To sleep, perchance to Dream; Aye, there's the rub,
For in that sleep of death, what dreams may come,
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause. There's the respect
That makes Calamity of so long life:
For who would bear the Whips and Scorns of time,
The Oppressor's wrong, the proud man's Contumely,
The pangs of despised Love, the Law’s delay,
The insolence of Office, and the Spurns
That patient merit of the unworthy takes,
When he himself might his Quietus make
With a bare Bodkin? Who would Fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the dread of something after death,
The undiscovered Country, from whose bourn
No Traveler returns, Puzzles the will,
And makes us rather bear those ills we have,
Than fly to others that we know not of.
Thus Conscience does make Cowards of us all,
And thus the Native hue of Resolution
Is sicklied o'er, with the pale cast of Thought,
And enterprises of great pitch and moment,
With this regard their Currents turn awry,
And lose the name of Action. Soft you now,
The fair Ophelia? Nymph, in thy Orisons
Be all my sins remembered.
Boom, lawyered!
Wait, it was me who brought it up. Oh well....
50 to 800 yards is probably where I want to be. I know it's a wide range.. the lower end of that for deer hunting etc. and the higher end for some gong ringing.
I've grown to love Leupold since I can always rely on them. That is probably my max price range.
Not sure about vortex since they are phillipino (I think) (maybe jim can provide insight on phiilipino human labor quality...)
But that bushnell has a nice mag range, mil turrets, and I'm digging that reticle too! I didn't realize they made those DMR reticles and had a 30 mm tube.
Thanks for those recommendations. I should ask, have you personally looked through/shot either of the first two?
Oh you'd probably be impressed with my budget! We have no debt (only mortgage but that doesn't really count lol), no car payments, pay split payments on our mortgage to get that 13th payment each year (which we also put extra towards principle), hardly ever go out to eat, don't eat fast food or junk food or soda, we allot a small amount each paycheck for "personal" money which is where my rifle/reloading/etc funds come from. We save more than our monthly mortgage each paycheck. So BRING IT ON! [LOL]
I knew an Ophelia once. Nice gal, worked at the gas station outside of town.
Have you been to the Roundhouse this week???
I could go for a croissant and some maple almond butter right now.
Never got her last name. Pho is calling me. Nom nom
Oh damn.. that bushnell is first focal plane too. I'm really considering that model.
I own and use the 6-24x50 version of the bushnell on my LMT MWS in .260. It's a pretty sweet little scope. My next purchase is going to be the 3-12 version to switch between my LaRue and my .223 'SPR' AR.
ive used and shot the vortex at a precision shooting class. Is a good little scope, and it should serve you very well.
I have the last one on my LaRue 16" PredatAR .308. It's tough as nails, but it's only "drawback" (if you can call it that) is that it's second focal plane. It has killed numerous critters.
Btw, I would have sex with that G2DMR reticle if it were possible to fit my pecker into a 1 mil radian hole.
yes, I love it THAT much.
K, it's midnight:38 here. Night hoes!
Goodnight, please don't sex the reticle
Belly, don't scratch the glass. :what:
Wow my neighbor is watching MASH didn't know they still played that!
