I'm new to the reloading game, but I started with the Classic turret kit and so far I love it.

Pawn shop had one of these for $50. I needed a LRF so I don't think I can go wrong with $50.....

Well, you go cook an egg on your livelihood and see how it turns out [LOL]
Besides, it would require me to open the telescope during the day, then disassemble it so I can get inside, which takes 8-10 people 2 days to do. So probably not gonna happen.
Oh, that was an AWESOME punt return!!
Sweet find on the LRF belly. Yet again, another toy for me to eventually buy.
That's an interesting story, BC.
Nice lookin' target belly. Just out of curiosity, have you ever used OnTarget to compare your measurements to what you get with calipers?
LOL, fine, see if I share any more cool stories with you guys! [Neene1]
And OnTarget is nice, but it takes me too freaking long to do anything with it. I always take pictures of my targets (if I don't keep them) with every intention of measuring them...
What, you don't dual boot with windows? I'd give you crap, but I wouldn't do it either but Solidworks is windows only (they were talkinga bout coming out with OSX version in 2013, never happened) and so I use that on my work laptop, which has OnTarget installed.
I just used the word "unupdated" instead of "outdated". Dang, I must be really tired.
Time for the coffee IV drip. Be back in a few...
Moosehead is good beer!
I feel like I just won the lottery. Had to brew another pot of coffee, and I polished off a can of Folgers, which means, I get to take that can home with me to use for holding brass, yay!!
Now it's Killians... Om nom nom!
Okay, you alcoholics, stop hijacking this thread!
Burp
Its only because I'm jealous, I wish I were drinking beer instead of coffee right now. [Cry]
Called my LGS the other day to see if they carry any MatchKings. They have the normal 168gr boxes of 100 for $45+tax. [Shock]
Heck, at that price, I could buy them from Midway, pay for expedited shipping and STILL pay less than my LGS.
You saying I should let them rip me off on those bullets?
I buy powder/primers from them at their increased rates just because I don't have the ability to buy 10k at a time...yet.
eta: For the record, they are a local monopoly, and drive all other gun shops out of business that pop up in town. They charge at least 50% higher on nearly all products they sell. If there was good competition, I would happily shop local.
Shit.. Thought this was a beer forum.
Ahhh shit
Ah, gotcha HB. Yea, I really wouldn't have a problem with them if it weren't for their business practices.
For instance, the guy that owns the place teaches CCW classes, like most gun shops do. He doesn't go to the shooting range, he takes the students out to a canyon. No big deal, doesn't want the students to pay the $5 all day range fee. I get that. But he has a strict "you can not pickup your brass" rule, even though its in a national forest or something like that.
A coworker took the class (gift from his wife, not his choice of instructors) and took his 44mag to shoot because he loves that revolver. When he found out he couldn't pickup his brass, he pulled out his Kimber 45acp and shot that instead, using old nearly worn out brass. He had a question about the training certificate he received, so he walked back to talk to the instructor who stayed behind when he dismissed the classs (cars were parked several hundred yards away). That's when he saw the gun shop owner picking up the brass, so he could sell it in his shop. Basically steals your own brass for personal gain.
And I know what you mean about shipping fees. I can see how ordering 10lbs of powder, or 10k primers comes out cheaper than the LGS, but thats a big upfront expense and nowadays, its hard to find powder in stock online, primers are more readily available now though, so things are finally turning around.
Oh, and about my "cool story bro" from earlier, here's the website that talks about the gun shots, doesn't have much detail in it, but it does have a picture of the holes: http://www.astr.ua.edu/keel/telescopes/mcdonald.html
