Win is a win. That is why the games are played. I think the consensus is we would feel more comfortable if the Broncos were playing more consistently on both sides of the ball. But the team finds a way to win. Broncos made no mistakes with turnovers and the Steelers had one.
We cheered when the Broncos won. It was ... Fun!
I am worried that Tom and the Gronk will tear the Broncos apart.
This Bronco team has beat the Patriots already once this season. It can be done. Patriots lost to a shitty Dolphins team that cost them the #1 seed. They can be beat. Broncos sack Brady three times like they did Ben and take him off his mark, perform a little better in the red zone they can beat the Pats.
I have always been a fan of Denver since before John. Was it just me or did the Defense look a little slow last night. Like for most of the game they were just chugging along going "well were not down by much yet" then kinda come to life? And many of the dropped passes you would have thought that Payton had a bionic arm.
Alright, done being a downer. Going back to my theory of... We were just holding out yesterday so the pats don't have tape on the real offense. . 2013 offense will be displayed this week. F the patriots. Let's see Tom cry.
That spotty offense and stellar defense have taken down 3/4 of Denver's opponents all season long. It's not like they were ever super hot and then coasted - hell, Denver had a better or similar last 6 games than anyone in the AFC, except Kansas City.
Will it be enough next Sunday? Who knows... "Any Given Sunday" style.
For what it's worth, I think Brady will end up being the higher-regarded quarterback, and the 2001-20xx Patriots the best regarded overall team of the time period, though both Peyton Manning and Tom Brady will be enshrined in Canton on their first eligible ballot.
Amen to Tom crying, though - that'll really energize him for the 2016 regular season!
Especially with Hightower back in the mix. The Pats aren't a defensive powerhouse, but they play smart. And that's dangerous when an offense is struggling to make their designed plays work, because unless you've got Rodgers or Roethlisberger, extending the play and improvising rarely works well for 4 quarters.
One play doesn't equate to good play. The youngsters have been inconsistent, and Mathis isn't exactly living up to the hype he had in Philly.
