I did watch some of those Utube vids on these various knives- they can be helpful but- there are many that love the CS SRK- even though the handle comes loose after a while. That would drive me nuts.

Seki city is in Japan and known for making really good knives. I have several, they hold an edge wonderfully and take some pretty rough use. As far as Cols Steel SRKs loosing the handle. I have 2 and havent had the problem. 1 of them gets used pretty hard ona regular basis. Maybe I have been lucky.
I also found Scrapyard Knives on the internet, looks like some cool, high quality stuff fairly priced.
Fairly priced -IF- the prices on their site are current. I checked ebay and there are 2 "SOD" knives posted for sale at twice the price shown at the Scrapyard site.
Ouch. Customer service at Scrapyard leaves something to be desired. Their website shows quite a few knives for sale, types, prices, etc. Remember these are not $400 and up customs, these are basically $100 and some change knives. When I inquired via email as to the availability of a knife shown and to verify price- I was told the following virtually word for word- we put a few knives up on the order page for 4-8 weeks, when they're gone we take them down and they may never be available again. We only have blah and blah avail at this time. Thank you.
Have a nice day Scrapyard and goodbye. (from me)

That's your opinion. I'm pretty sure most of the folks posting on this subject know what whatever knife they're talking about looks like.
What's the big deal about the response? Not sure I'm following.
