If you want absolute precision on a case trimmer, get the Wilson Stainless trimmer. It uses a case chamber die that references off the shoulder. It's not cheap, but if you want precision, that's what the bench rest shooters use.Quote:

People seem to really like these. If you're just trimming one caliber, this may work better for you anyway.
You are right in that the case will be formed to the chamber. However the case mouth expands forward every time you fire it since it's constrained at the back by the bolt. Since there is not much constraint where the bullet meets the lands, the case will want to stretch into this area as it expands. The cases continually stretch and thin with subsequent firings.Quote:
