And it's awesome!
My mortgage lender told me I had to write up a letter stating I understood the drawbacks to living in a rural area - I think they had people attempting to renig on loans for stupid reasons.
I wrote a long letter about how I prefer to pee outside and wanted a place where I could pee off the front and back porches without upsetting anyone. I also wrote about the urban youts and their reluctance to venture into the wild.
They even specified that I include the fact I understood my commute to town would be longer. I wrote that I had noticed a correlation between driving distance and time over my 30+ years of driving experience.
I sent it to her as a joke, but she accepted it and put it in my "file."
BTW, Mortgage Solutions of Colorado are awesome to deal with
Can never go back to suburban living.
Rural is great. The bad part is my 3 year old just pulled down his pants and started peeing on a weed. The problem was, we were in town, not at home...
One day when picking up my ~4yo son (he's now 25yo) from the Peterson AFB Child Care facility his "teacher" pulled me to the side to discuss an issue they had when my son that day. Apparently, while out in the grassy outdoor play area he whipped out his junk and started peeing. When the teacher told him to stop he told her "It's okay, my dad does it all of the time." While she was upset over my sons actions, she looked at me and it was clear she wanted an explanation as to why I'm peeing outside all of the time - since we live in town. I simply told her I'd address the behavior with my son. On the drive home I had to explain to my son that dad only pees outside when I'm out hunting or camping and it's not okay to do it in town.
