I brought my Baofeng to CRC with me yesterday. I was able to pick up 145.430 all the way out to the range. When I was leaving, I heard 145.145 much stronger on the way back.

Hey guys - if any of you want to listen to a pretty good net on Echolink, listen to the Arf.com net on Friday at 6:30 PM - the link is a few pages back. I'm getting in touch with the moderator to figure out how we reserve a regular spot on a conference node. In the meantime, pls post here on what days/times might work for you during most weeks. I'll try to get a time that will work for a majority here.
Doesn't look like I am going to be able to take my test Saturday. Wife scheduled a meeting with our potential builder at the same time.
15th anyone?
I'm going to the candy store today!
I'll be there in a few minutes.
I need a dual band antenna replacement, for when I drove into the garage with my antenna attached.
Can't do it Tuesday nights, already have a weekly net. Cant get on usually till 7pm or later.
Can anyone give me an example of a reason for a vanity callsign? Not talking about "grandpa's old callsign" or something sentimental that I could easily understand. But for a new guy starting off, is there any value? I have to admit the system is still alphabet soup to me. Maybe it'll make more sense once I study a few more flash cards... LOL.
Shorter callsign to remember? Spell out 80085? etc...??
Maybe something easier to say/remember.
I have no idea. I haven't studied that part yet. ;)
