Usually I wouldn't find this too funny, but I'm actually the Animal Control Officer that responded to this call.. Thankfully, the rabbit was saved.

The saddest part is.... These people were helpless for something simple . Couldn't imagine a real crisis for some folks.
It's a rabbit, like any pet unless there's a life threatening situation leave it. Sooner or later it will get hungry and come out to eat. OR they could have pulled the panel off. Unless they needed some help with that too.
My thoughts exactly when I got the call dispatched to me.. "Leave it alone and it will come out on it's own!!" I had her peel back the strip of vinyl (kickplate?) underneath the cabinet which created enough of an opening to atleast see the rabbit.
Toekick is the term you're looking for. Hey you were a hero to that lady at least.
To the helpless, everyone is a hero.
Definitely was happy to help out - everyone needs help at some point! Small world finding that on this thread, though. Needless to say this thread has led me to check out my local Nextdoor..

You know at a certain point hearing; the rabbit died, is not the joyful news that it once was for some people.
