At least you didn't have to watch Lawrence Welk and the bubbles, I still have nightmares about that damn show.
Howz it going fellow ho's!
glad to hear you have some things in motion OBC!
I can't believe how civil people are being in this thread: https://www.ar-15.co/threads/131413-Social-experiment
I was going to post IBTL, but it doesn't look like it's headed that way (surprisingly)
[Rant2]
Fucking 19 year old shit head who thinks he knows it all while living rent free in my house......
I just picked up a new action spring for my PredatAR. Turns out that when you put a suppressor on a 16" .308 AR, it MAY then be over gassed.
the new spring is about 230# heavier. Seriously, its heavy. I think I'm gonna have to start doing 'gun-ups'!
Stepkid unfortunately. His mom's pissed at him, but giving him yet another chance. I was ready to put him through the living room wall into the garage when he started yelling and swearing at her. All because we told him that he has to follow up on job applications on the phone and even possibly in person. I know that would mean taking time out from video games and skyping with friends while playing, but part time seasonal work at Elitch's isn't going to cut it.
I started paying rent the month after I graduated high school. I even entered into a lease with my parents.
i wasn't about to get caught up in that whole 'live under my roof live by my rules' but. Nope, I'm paying rent, so I'll abide by my lease and that's it.
Damn Dave that sucks! My niece is 21 and just got her license and is working at water world....wtf is wrong with these kids? I was moved out at 17 and working ft. I always had at least pt since I was 13, lawns and misc chores since I was about 6-7.
I'm not sure if this should go in the hunting thread or what, but I just shot the leg off a rabbit with a slingshot. It was eating the flowers that I planted YESTERDAY and it pissed me off. I paid a bunch of money for those flowers and spent a lot of time planting them and running drip lines to them from the sprinkler system. I don't own a pellet gun and can't just start shooting guns in my neighborhood... So I grabbed an old $10 slingshot from my survival bag and gave it a try. First shot missed and I don't know by how much. Second shot blew off its front leg. It ran away on three legs and stopped in the middle of my grass. I walked up to it with the intention of killing it, but somehow I missed twice from 4 ft away and I was out of pellets, so I went and grabbed a rock about 3/4inch in diameter and that sure did the trick... it was definitely dead after the rock from point blank. Upon inspection, the little steel pellet tore its front leg completely off about halfway up, so I'm pretty sure a hit to the head or vitals would have killed it pretty quickly.
I'm such a Neandertal.
Ha! I already shoveled it into a construction dumpster down the street. I should have thrown it into my neighbor's window well... I've seen them "rescuing" bunnies from their window wells 2 times now and then "releasing them into the wild" (my yard). My neighbors are kinda weird.. Their son is going to grow up to be a pussy.
I shoot animals in my yard all the time. Why can't you?
I don't really know my neighbors and I don't want them calling the police or panicking because they heard a gunshot at 10pm. I plan on staying in this neighborhood for a while and the last thing I want is pissed off neighbors. Also, it's illegal to discharge a firearm within the city limits and/or within x feet from a road, and/or within x feet from a house, etc. I'd like to keep it on the DL.
Trust me, I wish this weren't a problem... I would love to shoot rabbits and Pdogs from my back porch, but that's not the situation I get to work with right now.
Have it in the contract, 15 days to move out. Some folks want you out before the ink dries at closing.. You have a place lined up, closing gets put off 3-4 days, or the buyer gets cold feet, you just lost the place you wanted.
Expect multiple offers for $5-15K over asking. However some of them are going to want you to, grade the driveway, repaint the closet (MIL hates earth tones) trust me it's happened. You're selling it AS IS, outside of any legit repairs needed, like septic etc.
Having the house sparsely furnished during open house / realtor visits helps. Move any firearms / safe in to the garage, with a cover over it. Better yet, see if you can score a refrigerator box to put over it.
HB,
The visual of you going primal on that rabbit is funny.
I dispatch them with a Gamo Silent Stalker Whisper .22 and no one is the wiser.
On the move out thread, I was gone mid way through senior year. Once I turned 18, as promised by 'rents, I was calling the shots.
Worked as a lad to afford a car and some pocket money. REAL lucky I've never really been unemployed.
Got a few rabbits near my house that I know I can't do anything to. I'd love to use even a pellet gun to keep them from chewing my yard and my wife's flowers in the front, plus I'd have some good stew. But I have some nosy neighbors that wouldn't hesitate to turn me in.
Woke up this morning to the kid leaving, guess he wasn't really up to facing us yet. He has a shift at Elitch's later so he was toting his work uniform with him. Guessing he'll end up blowing more of what little he makes on a restaurant. Not saving a thing, though he doesn't even have a driver's license yet so no point in a car I suppose. His biggest problem is that at 19 he still thinks food service and retail are jobs that are below him. Yet, I was 12 when I first worked a summer de-tasseling corn back in Michigan, each year from 12-15. Then, I worked at Rotten Ronnie's (MC D's) from 16-18 until I joined the Army. His mom worked Taco Bell in high school until joining the Navy. We both have college degrees and decent jobs, not sure what he's waiting for. [Shake]
He's apparently waiting for someone to hand it to him.
I can say that there are a lot of kids/teens/whateveryouwills who are not motivated until they see someone go from where they are to advancing in the world. I knew several people in college who were partying and failing their classes left and right about to be kicked out. Then they attended graduation for someone they knew and bam, became extremely motivated to finish.
Then again, some people just are just complacent with what they have and don't care. I couldn't wait to get out of food service (Starbucks) fast enough when I was in my final year of school (had to quit because was taking 22+ credits each semester).
