Hello bitches,
Ridge, I'm glad you found some good mojo with going to the range, that's Cool, brother... :)
I learned part of the Hotel California song tonight at lesson, pretty neato.... I'm thinking times ahead are gonna cost me practice time and lessons, but a shit pot of stuff is heading my way. I'm sure it's going to be overwhelming at times, not looking forward to that part of it......selling and moving and the D, and all of it.
I'm just looking forward to the afterward side of it all...and am still hoping good news about the cbi stuff.
Damn HB !!!! you pumping growth hormones into that kid, or what???
He was an infant a few weeks ago.
How are ya doin' man?
Goodnight fellers,
Have a great hump day if ya can.
Yup.
I have a BCM 16" Middy light weight BFH and it's a nice shooter. 1:7. Slapped an LP block on it and a 15" Alpha rail. It now sports my old SWFA SS scope.
Have only had it out with the glass twice in the MF wind with 55gr so I can't say how accurate the bbl is yet. Need to work up some 77gr loads and run it.

Hey hoes. What's up tonight?
Car trouble eh? My clutch shit out on me today two stop lights from work. Had to muscle it into every gear and felt like I nearly didn't make. Lovely wife drove all the way down to my job and we took a trip to the parts store for some brake fluid, as I had discovered that the reservoir was dry. After filling, clutch pedal was still very light, and clutch still engaged differently, but shifting was clear enough to get me home. HOWEVER, clutch again shit out with two traffic lights till I got home and locked up the shifting again. Checked the reservoir when I got home and it was still full. Perhaps it's the heat. Who knows.
Well... the first hour of work was pretty uneventful today.
So somehow I turned off the wireless capability on my laptop. There is no physical switch that I can find.
Any idea if sequence of function keys will turn wireless capability on?
This happened once before I think and have no clue how resolved. Probably called tech who built machine and he led me thru it.
Suggestions solicited.

windows machine: go to start; computer; then look on the left of that window for teh networks icon. you might find it in there.
Assuming you have windows: look in the lower right next to the time: do you have a network indicator there? You should be able to right click on that to get into your network settings and see what is going on.
Have covered both of your suggestions and here is where I end up.

And of course now I have to get on the road and probably not get back to the house until after techs go home for the day. Hopefully will have time to at least call them today. Zero chance of sitting at computer while on the phone though.

If it matters the machine is a refurbished Compaq 8510.

Bummer. I would start googling "Compaq 8510 Wireless card problem" or something similar and see if you find anything helpful. [Dunno]
Sorry I can't be any more helpful from here.

Taco pics on Friday!
My win7 HP has the F12 key as the on/off for wireless. IF the light is white / blue (color blindish) it's on, if not (darker color) off.
IF the Light is illuminated for ON and still nothing take a look at your router. My router has a on/off and WPS buttins on the side. Those must be on and the wireless icon illuminated on the router to function.
This is for vista.
Using Wireless Assistant software (select models only)
A wireless device can be turned on or off using the Wireless Assistant software. If a wireless device is
disabled by Computer Setup, it must be reenabled by Computer Setup before it can be turned on or off
using Wireless Assistant.
NOTE:
Enabling or turning on a wireless device does not automatically connect the computer
to a network or a Bluetooth-enabled device.
To view the state of the wireless devices, click the Wireless Assistant icon
in the Windows® Mobility
Center.
For more information, refer to the Wireless Assistant online Help:
1.
Open Wireless Assistant by clicking the icon in the Windows Mobility Center.
2.
Click the
Help
button.
Win7 also and I vaguely remember talking to the tech back when and we resolved with function keys, but all I tried this morning failed.
Am thinking update package(16 items) that was loading conflicts with set up(happened once before) or wireless "card" toast.
Don't think any issues with router as both cell phones cruised right on and Windows diagnosis was to turn on wireless with switch (this machine does not have, previous machine had switch) or function keys.
Am sure 30 seconds into phone conversation with tech, facepalm will occur as I remember solution from last time.

This is the direction I was heading, obviously different manufactures use different key combinations to turn Wi-Fi on and off. Guess that's not the ticket, man that's a tough one...Maybe the card is toast?

Holy ShiT..."18,032"............Jimbo be on a role!

Many years ago, I had to drive my wife's old Suby GL10 wagon with a busted clutch cable. Cold starts in 2nd gear at the lights, rev-matched shifting without a clutch. Fortunately, she was only about 10 miles from home and I only had to work a half dozen or so lights I just couldn't time.
8510P manual shows what looks like a touch sensitive switch just above the F4/F5 keys. Should be a little antenna ({!}) like icon there.
Looking for the Hp Wireless Assistant "hotkey" as well. HP is as as bad as IBM finding simple instruction/info.Quote:
Touch-sensitive controls for HP Info Centre, HP QuickLook, wireless on/off, HP Presentation button, volume up, volume down,
and mute
Passé the finals. Now all I have to do is ace the POST test
Can't seem to find a specific hotkey listed. Which means there probably is one...
If you don't have the HP wireless assistant running in the task tray (lower right)
- Click Start , Control Panel , and then double-click HP Wireless Assistant .
Figure 1: HP Wireless Assistant
http://h10010.www1.hp.com/ewfrf-JAVA.../c01615743.gif- By default, the Status column shows that both of the wireless devices are either on (enabled) or off (disabled). Also, by default, the Action column does not display.
If you want to control one of the wireless devices individually, without affecting the other devices, click Properties , and then select the Independent controls for installed wireless devices option.
Ok brutal, you need to be checking forum with belly and I at 4 AM.
