College is pushed so hard that EVERYONE is getting an education, and an education so expensive they can't ever repay it, so look for that narrative to change. Trade skills are going to be coming back in force.
That's true too. The fewer jobs will have higher requirements/expectations. And if the increases hit the consumer (which they will) then the consumer will demand more too (not just the employers).
Young people have fewer opportunities to work before finishing school as well. So they will be expected to transition--and that will be hard.
I have been railing against the constant drumbeat of "going to college" that is pushed by the government schools. I am fully supportive of the efforts of Mike Rowe and his work to get those who want to work interested in doing jobs that pay.

Two of my three kids are in college and the third is in vo-tech learning to be a welder. My money is on the welder being able to support herself when she graduates. I also don't think she will have to worry too much about the minimum wage once she has some experience.
They'll just build machines that flip burgers. Cheaper and no health insurance.
