Delfuego, the way people choose to dress is an action...
I agree Dave_L. Their Image (choice/action) goes a tremendous way to fighting against stereotypes.
Additionally, how someone chooses to present themselves is the most literal outpouring of their self-identity and/or aspirations... If they wish to dress like a thug, it clearly indicates that they relate closest with the "thug lifestyle" or at minimum wish that they did (some kids are just posers).
Actions, which I contend includes how they choose to present themselves and behave, speak louder than words.
I think both are true statements.
Appearance is the first judgement. If you walked into a lawyers office and saw a guy in torn up sweatpants, a free desk off craigslist and a weed t shirt on, would you want him representing you?
what if the pilot of your airplane looked like a homeless pothead? You feel safe riding on that airplane?
or if your service tech coming to work on something in your house rolled up with a free candy van and had a severe phedophile look about him while constantly asking questions about your kids?
imagine matters, don't think for a second that people aren't and don't judge based on appearance. If any of those ip situations made you think "I would work with that person", then you are judge mental as well without even having to see the person in real life, just the thought alone gave you a predisposition.
Marc Lamont Hill is revolting. It used to infuriate me when Fox gave him a platform to spout his racist nonsense. It still bothers me that he is being paid to spew his biliious crap but I'm less bothered by it being on the Communist Nonsense Network as they have devolved to being nearly as much of a waste of time as MSNBC.
Agreed.
It's one's appearance that makes a first impression. You want to get respect dress like you deserve it. Those adults standing there present to the locals & the world how the "citizens" of the community feel about the actions of the few. it shows not everyone who lives there embraces a certain look and lifestyle.
100 bucks says they wont burn down the welfare office......[Coffee]
Some of the news outlets said there was some minor shit going down downtown. Wonderful
Protests reported in Baltimore, DC, Boston, Huston, Indy, NYC. Unrest is spreading.

Forget protests or civil unrest regarding our dying freedom or government corruption or infringement and outright government violation of the constitution...the growing civil unrest is about...racism. Crazy.
Someone sure has a huge Kinko's budget...
At least one of those signs has the word "revolution" on it. Only liberals are allowed to use that word and not get berated by the media.
From the pic "stop racist police terror". How about we stop racist thug terror?
