ya, they are pretty sweet, but expensive.
oh look, two more posts left to the new name
Sorta- "Damascus" steel gets its name from the area it was believed to have been started and became the most refined example of the art. Damascus steels start as a steel bar and are folded and hammer forged upon itself repeatedly. Samurai type steels start out as dead iron and rice charcoal or rice "whips" are added as it is folded and hammer forged to turn the iron to steel. This results in alternating laminates of iron and steel and makes for a ductile alloy that will hold an edge well.
Same basic concept is used for both but the metallurgy is different.
Some of the modern examples of laminates are incredible using various types of cable. Between the twist of the cable and the folding the patterns are unreal.
damnit, I hate it when I can't sleep... [Bang]
I think it is traditionally called mokume. The metal combining or whatever.
Meh sleep is over rated 13 hour day on my end played on the dyno 2100 ft lbs of torque to the wheels is pretty scary to have strapped down
My wedding ring is a titanium mokume gane ring as the designer called the style anyway. I believe it has four different types of titanium layered and fused together, then twisted and made into a ring. It is also a tension set. Pretty cool.
I have seen a few threads closed... Are a couple crazy ar-15ers letting loose at the mouth in them or what? I just saw that LEO's were involved so I could only imagine the pissing contests going on inside... Same shit, different thread.
This is pretty much what it looks like.

That is a bad ass ring!
Well I am gonna try and get some of that over rated sleep
I would lock the place when you leave do not want monky rearranging stuff in the AM
1 am... yay!
So, who here has been to manhatton? Damn cool place with tons of friendly people. It is without question the city that never sleeps... well till about 7 am anyway.
I had to stop in at Bubba Gumps to eat, had to. If you needed something, you would flip over the plate to "stop forrest stop" and any one of the waitresses would come to your table to help you. It was a cool place. I ended up having 7 long islands there... first night. The waitress was very cool though and she and some of her coworkers took me to her place for the night, cool little studio...

If you do ever go there, you need to go to the top of the Rockefeller building.

I ended up getting kicked out of the building for a bunch of pictures like that because I was standing on top of (more like leaning over) the glass railing because every damn tourist had to put their hands on the glass and smudge it up.
This is what the subways look like at 3 am.

After one of the long weekends in NYC I decided to stay in vegas a few nights. Ah, the single days, those were fun...

Easily one of the coolest places I have ever been to and would have to recommend to anyone. The first time I went I just needed to get the hell out of dodge and bought a plane ticket that left the soonest and was the furthest destination away. I remember everyone warning me about the things that happen in NYC. Not even close. Those people are some of the coolest and nicest people I have ever met.
Sorry, I was really bored and started looking at all of the pictures I have on this computer. Ok, going to bed now...
Oh, and this last post of the night is just to make this thread even with the movie thread as far as post count goes.
That does sound fun ginsue, that's for sure, but, I think the cute counter agent from the airport showing me around and giving me a place to stay, and the waitress from bubba gump's doing the same thing... I might have had a better time... [ROFL1] I think roaming round like that though with a bunch of friends would be a lot of fun. When I take my wife, it will be a different experience altogether also. I do have to say also, the carriage rides in central park are awesome.
I almost bought a gold zebra striped (shiny gold & matt gold striped) 50 AE desert eagle out of the back of a trunk in lil china there too... [ROFL1] almost.
