That particular portion is known as the bore evacuator: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bore_evacuator
Typically, the name starts with the company letter, e.g., Bravo Company might have a tank named “Bastards, Inc.”, etc.
Given that tank is named 99 Problems, I’d guess it’s maybe a HQ tank? I can’t remeber what convention the HQ guys followed.
Scanker19 will probably be along shortly to edumacate us all.
(Puts Glasses on) Ummm technically that's called an eccentric pressure scavenging system.
Traditionally it goes with the company name, even the HQ tanks when they weren't being raped for parts. If I remember correctly Squadron or battalion level tanks and brads went with either the battalion name e.g. Tiger, or with the HHT name like headhunter or what ever lame ass name HHTs used.
Now they name the tanks after the favorite liberal leaders since they haven't been able to put names on tanks for a while. Too much butt hurt over Donkey Punch or Drywall Mauler or Dicken's Cider...
The Brads were fun because the name would go on the TOW launcher, and then sometimes to be cheeky another name on the bottom of the TOW so it would only be seen when raised. Like a Brad named 99 Problems but when the TOW was raised it'd say "...And a T80 ain't one."
Edit: Also that's an M1A1 tank. Traditionally gayer than two infantry guys in a sleeping bag. Unlike the M1A2 which was crafted by god herself and handed down to those lucky enough to use them. Just not A2SEPs screw those tanks.
I?m just suprised those DAT?s could spell 99 correctly.......
I was in Lightning 3/3 ACR and my TOW launcher had a pic of the Liger from Napoleon Dynamite. I may have a pic somewhere. But as usual when someone borrows your shit for a mission cuz theirs was broke dick they return with a hole under it and the engine split and pouring fluids dragging behind an 88!
I thought it was because the barrel is plugged....
^^ Won't that make the barrel blow up if it's fired? Like sticking your finger in a handgun barrel will?
