I can tell you, anytime I see a motorcycle officer in a pursuit it amplifies my stress so much. I also ride, and the empathy I suppose scares the crap out of me. Image being on a 500-750 lbs motorcycle with zero protection chasing a 7000 lbs vehicle that on top of being reckless, would be happy to kill/ram you at any moment. And oh yeah, while they can jump out of their car, you can't exactly just jump right off a motorcycle.
If I were in the officer's shoes I'd be thinking every one of these pursuits was likely my last even if shots were not fired.
Also, this officer is LUCKY that the perp is shit at marksmanship. Not that he did anything wrong, it is just such a shit-show being at the disadvantage.
ETA: If the perp was a different race, this would've been reported as "cop shoots unarmed black man in the back, who was running away from him in terror, 100 feet away".
