The office building where I work in DougCo has had Great Horned Owls nesting in the ironwork at the top of the building for years.

We had three GHOs hanging in our neighborhood for a long while. I don't know if they're still around. They liked to hang around in our peach tree.
We had two that liked to watch us watch TV from our deck for about a week. Then they moved on.
I think they were hunting bunnies in our backyard and must have run down the supply. We don't have any pets so they had full use of our deck/yard for hunting.
Really strange to look out and see a pair of eyes looking back at you from your own deck! It was cool though.
The Willow Creeker's tend toward the "the authorities will take care of the problem- they MUST!" attitude. You ought to see the Nextdoor site when someone mentions guns. The Willow Creek neighborhoods turn positively blue with the hand-wringing and flailing when firearms are mentioned.
Yep I was wrong about the Great Horned Owls...for whatever reason I thought they were mostly on the east coast. I have a passive interest in photographing birds of prey and I never saw one in California. But apparently their range is the whole CONUS and most of Canada and Alaska too.
I'm happy to report that in my neighborhood, some Everytown for Gun Safety shills came on to try to drum up support for some meetings they were going to hold and within 30 minutes there were 3 posts telling them to GTFO. The thread disappeared by the next morning.
Not on Nextdoor, but I saw an animal call drop on the screen the other night that was right in line with Nextdoor. A citizen called the police to find out what it should do about a Coyote she saw that had mange. I thought of Nextdoor immediately.
