how you be, OBC?

i've had snakes, lizards, and spiders crawl/slither across my feet and/or legs while sitting in a wait.
He's albino Grey.
I'm down...lets do it.
Doin' okay, Belly. Thanks. You must be healing sooner than expected to be out shooting tomorrow.
Reminds of the scene in Josey Whales.....
"You get those holes a bleedin', and I'll whoop ya with a knoted plow line".
That *is* a cool looking snake BTW, MC.
I'd suggest following Irving's advice- take him and set him in a differet enclosure. You want to also watch an make sure an aggressive mouse doesn't damage your snake before the snake is ready to eat. That's been my experience...but then again, I've only had experience with boas and burmese.
oh wait, tomorrow is OCW day. maybe I'll try impacts on paper at farther distances. see what a ladder test and a OCW test will show. I'm taking the .223 precision AR that MarkCO assembled for me (the upper, anyways) to get the first round jitters out.
nothing saying I have to start with the goal.... I need to get a couple practice rounds in there.
Rich is a clown. I'm going to go over there first thing tomorrow and punch him in the mouth!
I'm just kidding, I don't know Rich, but I'm confident that you shouldn't listen to him.
Also, while they're growing, they'll eat more often. When I first got my corn, I fed him every week for a long time, I want to say almost a year. After that it was about every 2 weeks to a month. One time he went into hibernation and didn't eat for about 6 months.
Just be careful, Belly. Don't you have a 10 lb. weight lifting restriction?
Belly, I hope you heal up quickly...and don't overdo it! :)
Thanks for the input guys and gal....ill set a kids shoe box aside next week..... I still haven't handled him since new enclosure here at home....
how big can that snake get, JR?
I'm thinking its time for for some kraft mac and cheese.....not that powdered crap, the Deluxe Squeeze Cheese version.
I think one box should do it okay.
You bet! You'll want to give him a little more time to acclimate himself to his new home, anyhow. How big is his cage? How many little caves does he have? They used to sell heated caves in Maryland- do they have those out here? What are you using for substrate? What made you decide on a Milk Snake? How old is he? How big will he get? Does he have a name? I'm nosy tonight, please excuse me...:)
Mmmm. Mac N Cheese.
grey be rapid firin!!
No prob! I'm using coco husk shreds and Orchid bark mix currently... Just did that actually! He has a hide over his undertank heat mat but exchanging it for a clay pot tomorrow. Other hide will go on "hot" side of tank. His name is popeye or Mr. Popeye. He should get 3'-4'.
Our parakeet "Triple B" does not like Mr. Popeye
Awesome! I used to use coconut shreds for a Burmese python I used to care for- they do love to burrow. Popeye...that's a good name. :)
mrs. belly and i are watching one of those alaska veterinarian shows on nat geo. it's pretty interesting.
While we're talking snakes, this is what my corn looked like.

My baby sand boa's looked exactly like this.

Female

Sand boa's are kind of weird looking. They don't get long looking like other snakes, they always look fat. I only had the sand boas for a few months though. Check out this fatty.

If snakes creep you out, sand boas would not be for you, because they bury themselves in the sand and you can't see them at all, so if you want to take one out, you just have to stick your hand in the sand and drag it around until you bump into one!
What stunning colors on the corn snake! WOW!
I've never seen a sand boa- how unique. Their colors look like clouds.
I guess there are hundreds of different colors of corns and milks and breeding them into new colors is a huge thing. If you start Googling them you'll see some crazy colors. Snake fans know the names of "who's big right now" in snake breeding I guess. I don't know that much about snakes. I just walked into a pet store one day and said, "I want that one!"
Ages ago, I used to work in a pet store. I was the manager for the small animals/reptiles/birds section (and later on, they gave me the fish section as well.) I learned a lot, and managed to keep the critters happy and well-fed. The Burmese python was happiest after she bit me. Once she did that, she'd settle right down. [facepalm]
Haha, that's funny. Check out this lavender morph.
