Just in case you guys aren't joking about 1,000 yards, it is on a small, private range with a distance cap of 25 yards.

I could do some pistol shooting though if invited... or even just to watch some good shooting fun[Tooth]

So some quick math yields:

A 230gr .45 bullet at 850 ft/sec out of the barrel would take 3.6 seconds to go 1000 yds. But it would still have almost 100ft/lbs of energy when it get there. You would have to compensate for more than 3500 inches of drop. [Shock]
