Thank you for your input, and have a nice day...:)
It's been a while since I've done something irresponsible, so I built this last night. I guess I could go get some daytime pictures now.

A responsible adult would put a Walmart blue foam sleeping mat under that and call it good.
Here are some daytime pictures. The branch it's tied to is 19'3" from the ground. I put the ladder in the first crotch (center right), then climbed the rest of the way up. It was uncomfortable and I felt more stupid than cool being that high over the yard.

Knots are tied every 20". This is a 3/8" rope from Home Depot with a working load of 695lbs. There was a poly rope of the same size with a working load just over 1,000lbs. I probably should have gotten the poly rope but this one felt more "grippy" for climbing, and the kids don't weigh much.

The important part is the kid is loving it. It was the last thing she did last night, and the first thing this morning. I think I'll go to a tire place and beg off a used tire to hang instead of that branch.

Let me see if I can snag one today, and if not, I'm down.
Looks like a lynching rope to me. Time to rally the SJW's .

I know it still has the rim but it's all yours if you want to come and grab it. Wife will be home all day and I might be able to talk her into meeting you if you want it.
How would I get it off the rim?
Hopes and dreams bro?
Got a tire from mother-in-law (no rim), and already managed to break my 6 foot aluminum A-frame ladder by falling off the very top of it.
how do you break a ladder by falling off of it?
I gotta say, I'm impressed by the local fireworks around here. (Anything that leaves the ground or explodes is illegal) It seems that nearly everyone has some fun artillery shells and the cops really don't care. Good view from my driveway.
I was standing on the top most platform and was leaning forward while holding the tire in front of me. The combined weight of me standing above regulation height, and me holding the tire, caused the ladder to tip over forward. I rode the top of the ladder down most of the way and just managed to hold my feet up at the last second to slide across the grass on the back. Meanwhile, the ladder hit the ground face first at top speed, and instead of the little aluminum arms folding up like normal, they just bent straight out to the sides as the ladder folded. So, it's not completely broken, it's just not really safe anymore. Good thing it is only a little one for indoors anyway.
Neato rope for the kiddo, Irving. I have all the used tires you'll ever need. Just ask.
How come you had to stand on ladder to hang tire swing?
Aren't most all swings knee to waist high?

Major ant infestation at my front door.....vacuum and silicone for now....Orkin or somebody is gonna get some business.
DAMN.
They're just ants. They won't eat much.
So looking in to another place to relocate. Just found out the area we're looking at has LEGALIZED Brothels & Casino's [facepalm]
You're moving?
Depends what we hear this up coming week. Found a few places that have potential. Of course like a resume, they look good on paper. I know we've pulled up to a house looking at a camper that was listed as "IMMACULATE CONDITION". Then you saw it in person and even the mice couldn't stand to live in it.
