I got lucky and hit a refinance just right. Switched from a 30 year at 4.7% to a 15 year at 2.5%. Payments only went up $125/mo and my interest and principle basically flipped, so now I'm mostly just paying my home's equity instead of paying the bank. Bank even covered most of closing.

About 7-10 minutes. I live on pretty much the far end of the town, right at the edge by the mountains, so all errands can be done by making one loop around the city lol.

It definitely does, because all of that payment goes towards principal which is what people don't realize. Stupid amortization schedules! My current payments are only putting like $155 towards principal.

Wow, that's a spectacular improvement! With the $200 extra, I'm paying about $500 down on my principal each month. We probably bought a little more house than we should've... lol

I think Badger are considered the premo option by a lot of people. But hell I don't know the difference so I just bought stuff that got good reviews and was still affordable.

I bought an R700 SPS V for like $400 a couple years ago. Dick's was running a special and there was a factory rebate. I've been on the cheap but here's what I have on it now...

Bell and Carlson stock ~$220
Factory bdl floorplate ~$50
EGW scope base ~$40
Burris XTR 30mm rings ~$40
Millett TRS1 scope ~$275

Not at the rate your cranking the kids out [ROFL1]

500/month towards principle is still really awesome! I think before my refi only about $250 was going towards my principle so you'll be set based on that experience.
