Here's a nice widow maker about 50ish feet off the ground, right near a play ground. I'd say it's probably 12' long and the branch at it's thickest is about 5" across. After I saw that, I looked around and noticed that most of the trees were dead. It's only been the most windy year in my memory from Cheyenne to Pueblo, so what's the worst that could happen?

It's OK, Stu. The kids on the playground will be fine. Kids wear helmets for everything these days.
kids don't play on playgrounds anymore. They are home playing on the xbox.
Besides, that thing will come down in a windstorm and during that type of weather, no suburban dwellers would be caught outside anyway.
That branch is just passive Darwinism.
With how windy it's been, I'm surprised is not already on the ground. Heck, that branch is probably from a different tree altogether.

This was probably the only time in History where someone was lucky to be carrying at 7 o' Clock, although had they been carrying at 6 o'clock they might have just had one gash and some powder burns.
