Somewhat derail, sort of- talking with my brother this weekend, he criticized me for having no sympathy for Giffords, I replied "When you are the victim of violence and survive but then become a "crusader" against others' freedom, I do not feel sorry for you." Kind of the same thing here- I do not mourn the loss of someone who is described first and foremost "A staunch advocate for gun control." So long, sayanara, adios.
If I grin and giggle at random all day or week long, it's definitely not because of this. Honest.
Yeah, WW2 vet or not, he betrayed the principles he originally fought for. So fuck him.
Sad that his family or any family has to deal with the loss. My heart goes out to his family for that reason alone.
However, I am overjoyed for the country.
