Buying ammo for younger sibling illegal?

That actually makes no sense.

If your brother handed you cash and said BUY IT FOR ME that would be construed as a straw purchase, never heard of that for ammo purchase anyway. You just asked to "Borrow money" nothing more. I have gone into a liquor store at the check out I was short a buck, asked my friend who was with me and wasn't buying anything, handed me the buck and no questions were asked.

I am sorry but the clerk had no clue what he was talking about. Should have asked for the manager. Was it the Wally world on 120th and sheridan or the one on 136th and Huron?

Jim, i did have money, i was about to borrow money from my brother. Few weeks back i did offer people in a Walmart thread that i'll buy the ammo then they come get it and pay me on receipt but no one was interested. This one is on 136th and I25 btw, it was a manager there, a lady, guess the workers went to lunch, then i called the store, told me the same thing. So to put it out there again, they sell ammo at 7am, get a truck every night, i can be there at 7am to buy and if there's a shipment of ammo, i always get something as i know the person behind the counter, if anyone in dire need of some kind of ammo, hit me up and i'll do the favor.

A person under 18 can't even buy steel BBs, i think you're referring to under 21, then you can bring a someone over 21, unless the clerk is clueless or high on weed.

OR you correct them . By letting them know / made aware. Rossi, Marlin and Winchester make a LEVER Action (RIFLE) in 357/38 Same for 22lr. I ran in to that issue back in NY. Once i "explained" it was for a Rifle, they got a little cross eyed then sold it.
Play the game and make them think, AND look it up on their computer.

Yeah I remembered I bought 45acp when I was under 21, saying that there are rifles that fire 45acp like the HK USC and showed the dude the picture on hk website and he sold it. So follow Jim's advice.
