The East Peak fire, burning in southern Colorado, grew to about 9,000 acres by Thursday night according to the Huerfano County Sheriff. The fire threatened Interstate 25 Thursday as it moved to the east and southeast. Evacuation orders have been issued for residents east of the town of LaVeta, east to I-25 and south of Walsenburg to the Las Animas County Line. Pre-evacuation areas included Aguilar to the Trinidad city limits and east to I-25. The entire town of Walsenburg is also under a pre-evacuation status. Everyone made it out safe. Officials said one structure at the ranch was destroyed. The fire is 0 percent contained, according to the Huerfano County Office of Emergency Management. The fire exploded in size Thursday, it was a few hundred acres just 24 hours earlier. The weather Thursday was not favorable for firefighters with winds up to 30 mph, low humidity and dry conditions, according to the National Weather Service. A community meeting is scheduled Friday night at 8:00 at the La Veta Fairgrounds.</p>

Good luck down there!!! I'm dealing the Lime Gulch fire up here. Same area that had me on Pre-Evac for a week last year. Now it's heading back this way again. [Rant1]Just waiting for the reverse 911 call. [Bang]
