I like that ammo can stove, too bad I have no tools to make one and I haven't welded anything since auto body shop in high school.
Great thread. It gets me excited to try a stove. Anyone seen a design for an oven?
Have built a couple over the years. Homemade shop stoves seem to work better than factory built/bought.
Built one of them with dad when I was in high school. We used a 100 gallon tank from an old air compressor. Thing was a monster, at full burn you could barely get close enough to throw more wood in it.

I have seen angle steel with holes drilled in it, folds up nice up under the stove. on some YouTube video once.
Kinda like the stuff that makes up these shelves you get at home depot or whatever,

The legs are 1/4" NPT galvanized pipe. I welded a coupler to the bottom of the stove so the pipe (legs) can be removed. I have not been able to find the floor flanges to make it more stable. The stove is pretty stable right now.
I got the idea from the stove page I referenced earlier.

Here is a picture of a stove I want to make next. I will make it out of a 40mm ammo can. I am going to make a run down to the Springs to pick up some.

Here is another pic I drew inspiration from for my current one.
