Some good looking pups!
All of them. Each had their own personalities, each had their distinctive protection style. All of them over the years were eventually put down from old age or sickness. There was a dane shepard mix, shadow. quietest dog and a beta. However where ever the kid went in her walker she was always doing figure 8's around her. Someone came close, she got between the kid and "person" without thinking.
All our dogs except the most current ones were trained to go up on a specific non aggressive word.
This is Haley,She is black lab and Rott mix we got her from DDFL about 7 years ago she was skinny as a rail and very timid. Since then she has become best friends with my 5 year old son and a true family member. She is the greatest dog I have ever had. She is by my side everywhere I go. Attachment 32061Attachment 32063
Best Dog to Date. Savana, purebread chessie that wasn't paper since the owner didn't want to release them. I was fine with it as I got a pup for $250 when they usually go for $800-$1000. Both her parents were strong hunters. I got her at 6 weeks and it was game on ever since. First water duck retrieve at 3.5 months and flushed and retrieved her first pheasant at 4 months. By the end of the first season she had over 100 water retrieves and was only 6 months old. Dog has a killer nose for a retriever, I haven't lost a duck in 3 season with her, follows hand signals, will dive under the water after ducks that dive on her, and is killer in the cold down to single digits. All you could want in a hunting dog. Then the best part she is about the friendliest chessie you will ever meet. She doesn't have the territorial problem that most chessies have. Since she was a puppy she has always had a seperete set of standards for kids and adults. Kids can tug, poke, prod, and lay on her and she doesn't care and just copes with it, adults don't get away with it. Been nice to always trust her around infants. Best of both worlds, people that only see her around the house are stunned to see her hunt as it is night and day difference. She goes from laid back to extremely intense. Going to be hard letting this one go in a few years.

I love every dog I've ever had for all kinds of different reasons! Here are a few of my best friend Little Momma. She's an 11 year old min pin and she weighs in at a hefty 6 lbs. We rescued her from a puppy mill when she was 6 and she has followed me everywhere I go ever since. She's sitting in my lap as I type and I can't imagine life without her, although I know it will go on. She idolizes me, and I adore her.

I've had some great 4-legged friends over the years. My most loyal was a dog named "Teddy" when I was a boy. Wish I had pictures handy. This is our German Shepherd/Aussie mix Fenix. He's definitely a good dog. It was very hard when my youngest son started walking. Fenix would knock him down constantly. It was hard for him to learn "sharing" the space.
