They did. It's a new engine.

COD is now mimicking BF. Taking an enemy players dog tags, destructable environments, etc. I like BF far better but if COD Ghosts is only being released for the new console, I won't be getting it for quite a while.
Kill Confirmed has been around for years now. Destructive environments have also been around for years now, they're just taking it to the next level. If you want to get into who copied what game elements I think you'll be surprised how many features the BF franchise (and all other current FPS) 'stole' from the CoD franchise. What's the point? Who cares? If something genuinly makes a game better why should anyone avoid it at the cost of making the player experience worse? As a fan of FPS games I hope all devs copy what works from other games as it drives the progression of the genre.
It's going to be released for both current gen as well as next gen consoles. Personally, I'd rather see them go next gen exclusively so they can focus on that solely & we can see what the hardware in these new consoles is actually capable of. Oh well. It makes more sense that way from the studio's standpoint since it means many many MANY more sales. It will be years before we see next gen console exclusives unfortunately.
Will get Ghost when it comes out.
BF graphics get to muddy when things get tight unless you are playing on a good gaming
computer. Console was ok for BF only if you had a good squad. Could be frustrating getting on a game with real idiots in your squad. Takes too many bullets to take people out. But can be a fun break from COD.
If you are on XBox FOG DrJeckyll is my handle.
It's been the exact same physics models, character animations, and engine since 2008. No thanks.
I'll be over here playing Arma III on PC with 63 other people at a crisp 1440p @60 FPS. Cheers.
PR is good, but is actually too realistic. *GASP*
Much like an actual combat mission, the majority of the 90 minutes is spent scouting, assessing, and reporting back where enemies are or were. Then, you constantly re-evaluate your avenues of approach, only to have the enemy shift position again. You're only likely to get a kill with your rifle when some random noob walks out of cover, so to schwack somebody, you need to mounted on a crew gun. And even then, it's the odd foot mobile while approaching/operating within an AO.
Building rally points and doing recon is fun and all, but I need a medium. Arma with the A.C.E. mod is a perfect balance of FPS and tactical sim, for me.
I'll say it one more time since you seem to have missed it the first time... IT'S A NEW ENGINE. lol at comparing PC gaming to console gaming. Two entirely different beasts. While I haven't played the game you speak of it sounds interesting. Maybe if you didn't present it as some sort of evidence that other games were garbage (that aren't) you might generate more interest. Maybe start a thread about it and wait until the CoD and BF fanbois come into there to trash it.
Not sure if COD Ghosts is coming out for 360 or not, but just like most new games, I wait to hear from all my friends who went out and bought them both so I can get a "No BS" assessment. COD has always been nothing more than an arcade shooter. It's nice to see them delving into the world of destructable environments and different game modes. Guess we'll see how it runs when it comes out. Black Ops II is a laggy POS as it stands now.
It WILL be on the 360 as I've said no less than twice in this thread already.
They have had dozens of game modes on every version before this one.
They've had destructible environments in versions prior to this one, they're just emphasizing it in this version.
Define your definition of 'laggy POS' as it compares to other popular/similar games.
