I'd love to do the August 8th one, but that is the weekend after I start working again, so cash will be too tight :( Still had a great time at the May shoot, though!

Hey Ridge, was that the middle berm in May? Trying to figure out who the orange hats are...
That pic is Berm 6 at Ben Lomand Gun Club. I'm quite familiar with it [Tooth]. I was out there during the Appleseed shoot down on berm 1 taking a class from Ron Avery. There were at least a 100 shooters there for Appleseed with everything from 22's to bolt actions to AR's, and I think I even saw a few M-1's but didn't look that close.
Lots of kids and ladies shooting too. I like to see that. Anyone can convince a guy to go shooting, but getting the kids and women to go can take some convincing. The more of those two groups shooting the better IMO.
I'm in and 2 with me...
Thanks SA Friday. I couldn't remember the numbering at Ben Lomand. [NoClue] Ridge's pic must have been from late Sunday afternoon. I was working the west berm the whole weekend, but had to bug out to the airport Sunday afternoon shortly after we consolidated rimfires from the other berms and let the centerfires head over to the 600yd range for some long distance fun. I didn't recognize all the shooters on the line in the pic - since many came over from berms 2 and 5.
And you're right, we had quite the variety out there. Shooters brought bolt 22s, bolt 223s, 10/22s, Marlin 795s, ARs, M1As, M1 carbines, Garands, SKSs, a FAL... you name it and someone was likely shooting it!
Yeah that pic was from Sunday afternoon. Here is a pic from Sunday morning showing the wide variety of weapony viewable that weekend :)

ETA: I think that is Dad laying down next to me watching my breathing...
I spent the weekend southeast of Fountain with the Appleseed group, had a great time and learned more than I could retain. This was the first 'training' I have had and it was great. By the second day I could consitently score between 193 and 200 on the AQT.
The only downside is the sore body and the 500 less rounds I have for zombies, but then I will not need as many now.
I highly recomend to all!
Glad to hear you enjoyed it esaabye! I heard there were half a dozen new Riflemen who scored over 210 on the AQT and quite a few who were knocking on the door in the low 200s?
Regarding the ammo, you've got the right idea. As Boston says, "I'd rather have 500 rounds of ammo and 500 rounds of experience than 1000 rounds of ammo and 0 rounds of experience!"
Even though the August 29/30 shoot in Ramah is already sold out, anyone looking to attend an Appleseed and learn the skills to shoot 20" groups at 500 yards with iron sights (and hear some fantastic stories of your country's beginnings from the start of the Revolutionary War), can sign up for one of the open spots available for the kickoff Appleseed out in Gunnison that same weekend.
