It's all about the tires in the snow, and getting traction. In that video they are on snow covered dirt, not exactly a traction rich environment.

Videos like this remind me of watching presidential debates. Lots of bullsh*t, chest beating, and deception. Very little susbtance, honest representation, or anything else that matters.
I'm sure a WRX could win that contest against that truck in that setup too. I'm not even sure what this is actually testing... Who has better tires? better traction? lower center of mass? more torque? better electronic traction control? better driver? Is this supposed to persuade people to go buy a Toureg instead of a lifted and modded Silverado?
