Even if I turn on SMS tracking (it's not on because I just don't care), I cannot see the actual content of any user's text messages. I can see where the phone has been via its GPS if I want to, and I can see what apps a person has installed. I can wipe the phone's data entirely, or just the corporate data (email settings, etc.). Believe me when I say I don't have any desire to see where the hell Joe Bob Shmuckatelly was last night, even if I had that kind of time (I don't). I carry an iphone 5s that my company paid for, and I use it for whatever the hell I want.
ETA: Most companies who implement a system like this only do so to be able to wipe the phone in the event it is lost or stolen. It is highly unlikely anyone is using it to spy on you.
