It can be, but I think something like a 243 shooting at 2800-300fps would be a lot more fun and useful than a 300BLK bolt gun. Ballistics on 300BLK are not great even from a bolt rifle, but a 308/243/260 is a great round out to 800-1000y. Good scopes are not cheap, but there are some good options that won't break the bank.Quote:

If I do a 300 Blackout it will only be for a 100 yard rifle. Mostly to shoot groups on paper. I really wouldn't have any intention of trying to shoot at longer distances. If I wanted something for shooting way out I would probably build a 260.
