David Ayer almost never does anything outside of LA cop movies. Training Day, Street Kings, Harsh Times, End of Watch, SWAT, Dark Blue, The Fast and the Furious I've all seen. His movies are rarely stellar, but non unwatchable. I will say that if the trailer is representative of the movie, he's trying WAY too hard to sell the woes of war theme. It could just be bad editing, but it's like they just tried to write some foreboding, profound one-sentence line for each scene.

I'll be seeing this. Looks well done for sure. I may not be a Brad Pitt fan, but for those who don't know, him and Angelina are very pro-gun. They get a cool point for that.
I was just about to post something about that... Pitt likes guns, he can't be all bad- and he's certainly not as progressive/communist as his pal Clooney. Still, I love how they're pushing the heroism of WWII harder now than ever before. Maybe because so many vets are passing, but most are pretty decent films depicting the heroics and patriotism of our greatest generation.Quote:

While the "Easy 8" was no match for Panthers and Tigers frontally, it gave an excellent account of itself vs Pz 3s and 4s and StuGs.

That's part of my issue with Pitt. Hollywood needs to stick in some no-name actors who can act who may be a bit more age appropriate. Personally, I'd enjoy it more than seeing some gray 50something on the front, kicking ass in WWII.
I haven't varified it's true but read where the Tiger in the movie is the real deal. Not a CGI or doctored up Patton or somesuch:
