If you have any doubt.. go through FFL.
Great link. Pretty complete except it didn't say if a C&R FFL has to follow the FFL rules for transferring non-C&R guns in their collection.
This might be considered bigoted, but I'd never sell to someone that couldn't speak fluent english or has tats that I think are gang related. Ditto for gang hos. Last thing I want is a ATF trace coming back to me or worse, some kid getting blasted in a drive-by.
I am full of tats. (removed really long rant prior to posting). What has been said here about Private Party sales is correct for the State of Colorado. You must not have any knowledge of the purchaser being barred from possesion of a firearm & both you & the purchaser must be a legal resident of the same state. Typically a Drivers License or State ID will prove residency. Also purchaser must be of legal age, 18 for rifle & 21 for handgun. (I could be wrong on the age, but that is how it is for FFL transfer.)
Slightly off topic but near.....So if you can not do a pistol FTF sale (but I beleive you can) to someone under the age of 21 but over 18 can say a 19 year old be in possession of a pistol. Say like in an open carry scenario or in a vehicle or hunting, etc? I thought someone over 18 by a minute could own pistols bought from private sales. I'm 30 so I could care less but it still might be useful for the young pups to read the info.
I'll have to research this again but I thought it was 18 and up for a rifle and 21 and up for a pistol.
