I really like the color indicator on the silica or whatever it is, if only because that lets me judge how much moisture is getting into the safe. Had the safe in the garage for a while and I wondered if the hot/cool temperature swings would cause a moisture problem, but it was showing that it really wasn't getting much moisture at all. At least until this year, have probably charged mine at least twice this summer when it went months if not a year most of the time because it's so dry out here.Quote:

Picked up a refill pack (good for 4 refills) for under $4.00 and its back in place doing its job. As mentioned before, evaporative cooler probably contributed a lot.

Basements are typically more humid. And being very close to the lake doesn't help either.
