Go out in the yard and see if you can find any pieces of it.
Your reply got me curious. A call to a friend cleared it up last night. Apparently the 71st SOS is operating the 22 out of Kirkland and the 20th SOS is flying out of Cannon. I got curious since we have traditionally been in the flyway of stuff out of Cannon, (used to love the F-111's coming through). So apparently about 1/3 of the AF's V-22's are based out of New Mexico... The more you know.
We had one fly over the foothills going North to South this summer. My guess is Cheyenne to Colorado Springs but strictly guessing as we don't see them too much around here. In fact that was the first and only time I've seen one flying overhead here.
Nope. Nope. Nope.
I won't get on one. I had to help clean up one: http://www.isaf.nato.int/article/isa...ghanistan.html
they ARE neat. I refuse to fly in one.
There used to be a dark joke going around about how the Osprey killed more Marines than the Iraqi Army.
Not trying to make light of servicemen's deaths.
The father of my freshman year roomate worked on integrating the mechanical systems for Ospreys for about 6 years. He quit after two big accidents in 2000. He wasn't responsible for the accidents, but he told me that he didn't want to be responsible for the next one. He also told me that, unless I needed med-evac, I should probably find a different ride.
Statistically, Ospreys have a pretty good record in comparison to other aircraft. 36 total deaths from a handful of accidents. 30 deaths from just 3 of those accidents.
