Why am I so surprised the system actually worked?
The comments in this thread could be perceived as callous- So I thought I'd try to summarize what we really mean.
While we feel sorry for the victims of this horrible tragedy, we feel the blame falls squarely on the shoulders of Mr. Holmes, and those that failed to remove him from society for being a raving psychopath. This should in no way be blamed on people or companies for using or providing the same products or services.
We resent being punished for the actions of deranged individuals, it implies that we are as well.
There are 100's of millions of responsible gun owners who never harm anyone.
Anyone care to add?
^ that's good!
And great news!!!
Finally someone uses common sense
Article says the court costs were $224,000. Now are the victim's families going to be paying that out of their pocket? If so, how many? Man that would bankrupt most folks. Gotta feel sorry for them on one hand, but I guess that is what you get when you try and stunt like this. The losers keep piling up in the wake of that shitbag's rough night.
The families that brought the action will be responsible for it. Each one that signed on to do it.
Now, their lawyer(s) are fucked If they took it on a contingency fee.
There is a lawyer who will bring action for anything that $$ is in

I'm glad the companies won't have to pay the legal fees associated with this ludicrous suit, that said I'm hoping it's the Brady Campaign and not the families that have to pay.
The parents both work for the Brady Campaign. They were not duped by the Brady bunch or some ambulance chasing lawyer. They were trying to use their daughter's death to infringe the rights of millions of Americans who committed no crime at all.
