We're in Backcountry but there isn't much if anything in the neighborhood to compete with us other than a new build that's 6 - 10 months out. I'm sure your parents will move very quickly.Quote:

Good luck! I know that in our area, things don't tend to stay on the market very long . . . anecotally-speaking anyway. So hopefully you get a quick sale and a nice little bidding war to jack up the profit!
We're set to pay ours off in July after about 8 years of being highly aggressive with the mortgage, so we're planning on staying put for the long term. Sometimes I think moving to the country/mountains would be nice, though.

That's encouraging! One in my neighborhood just went up for $305,000 and that's what we're going to push for. The builds are 2001ish and most of the ones that have sold have had zero updates done. Our house is all updated so we're hoping that helps. Plus we have plantation shutters in the entire house.Quote:

When my wife and I sold our house last year, we'd go across the street to the neighbors house to watch who was "looking" and then we'd make stories up about the lookers. It made it more fun, because showings at all times of the day, really was a PITA...
Sold my first home in the ranch about 16 years ago in 3 hours. I have one up for sale on my street right now for $550k, but I think they're a bit high. Plenty of Open House opportunities, but it has been a couple of weeks and no sale.
Sounds exactly like the house down our street that I think is way overpriced . . . that's around what they were asking. LOL.Quote:
