Resurrecting this thread for my own selfish needs! My question is whether or not anyone can speak to the weight of the KRG W3C vs the XLR Carbon? I haven't been able to find specs posted any where for the WC3. I'm pretty well set on the XLR carbon because of its lightness and fantastic reviews. Any opinions or experience will be greatly appreciated!
The W3 is a fairly heavy chassis, The KRG X-ray is nice and light though. Below is some info for reference.
W3
Weight:
- Fixed version is about 4lbs 7oz w/o magazine.
- Folding version is about 4lbs 12oz w/o magazine.
X-ray
Weight:
- 3.1 lbs w/o magazine.
XLR Carbon info I got from Kyle
Quote:
Our Tactical Carbon chassis comes in a 3 pounds 11 ounces complete. There is only .7 ounces difference between the 15.5 and 12" Carbon hand guards.
Thank you XC, I ended up ordering my carbon from Nick at XLR. He was super cool to deal with and now I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve! Can't wait!!!
Are any of the guys from XLR members on here?
I don't believe so, but quite a few of us run them and have dealt with Kyle & Company directly. They are good folks and try to care good care of shooters and Colorado boys...
Picked up an Element chassis for my 700 LTR. Have to say this is a nice stock. Not something i'd want to carry around all day, but it wasn't purchased for that. Well balanced, comfortable to shoot good cheek weld etc.

Quick comment on the Magpul Pro 700 chassis. If you're buying one always get the folding version!
On the fixed version, the cheek piece blocks the bore just enough you can't get a cleaning rod into it - even if you lower the cheek piece all the way down.
I learned this the hard way, now I have to cough up another $150 for the hinge. :(
Haven't yet shot the rifle, so I can't give any feedback except to say it's heavy but very, very well built.
O2
You should be able to lower it out of the way for cleaning. MPA / AICS / XLR is the same.
