I've had the usps and ups and FedEx deliver items with signature required. The nice thing about ups and FedEx is they understand people work for a living and have hours after 8am to 5pm where you can pick items up. With the usps I'm limited to Saturday's between 11am and 2pm.Quote:

Very true. I do work for a bigger company but there is no current policy (and why I mentioned I'd open the boxes later). Each company is different. When I worked at Qwest they allowed no firearm related stuff. When Centurylink bought Qwest the policy changed - upper management in Monroe, Louisiana likes to go duck hunting after work on occasion. :)Quote:

You may want to check your comprehension skills. The post office delivered the package to the wrong address. The people had the package for days, and instead of putting it back in their mailbox with a "wrong address" or "not at this address" written on it, they kept the package. And they opened it. And continued to keep it, after they realized the package did not belong to them. They kept the paperwork, which contained the OP's personal information.Quote:

Had you bothered to continue reading the link that I supplied, the very next sentence explained that one's responsibility AFTER opening mail that is not addressed to you matters a great deal. Let me save you the trouble of clicking:

Toss the mail in the garbage, and you have intentionally obstructed the delivery of that correspondence. That is a crime, and there may be consequences. I have had many problems with USPS recently. Aside from 10+ day delivery times with first class service more importantly I have ordered 3 replacement credit cards, non have arrived. Spoke with the bank, fed ex arrived as expected.

This is funny, and I want to make everyone that much more excited. I ordered something from Midway recently. They shipped it UPS with final delivery by the mailman. This is the slowest way possible, and evidently they way they ship when you chose the least expensive option. The package arrived in good shape, but had been resealed with tape that said.. "Resealed by USPS " or such. But it was retaped by them. Box didn't look abused, were they looking for un-shippable stuff, I don't know. Evidently nothing is private.
I've ceased using the USPS entirely. Too many lost items that they refuse to pay out insurance for.
The last one I had a problem with was a roll of ASE. They were shipped adult signature required and our lazy mailman signed it himself and stuck them in our mailbox (never came to the door, my wife was home all day). I only check the mail about once a week and I was in CA so when I got the notice that it had been signed for I thought it had been stolen. Spoke with the manager at the post office and it didn't sound like they saw a problem with him signing for peoples packages and leaving them in the mailbox.Quote:
