Well I just got my degree so hopefully I don't find it was a dumb thing to do...
I'd say the stupidest thing I ever did was letting other people make decisions for me.

It's a toss-up between moving back to Colorado, getting married, and going for my doctorate. They all caused misery and cost me thousands of dollars.
Doubting myself, and listening to others that thought they knew me.

That one time I didn't wear my seatbelt.
The stupidest thing so far(I'm still a work in progress [ROFL1]) is also the best thing so far: Opening and operating my own business. The way to make a small fortune in the motorcycle industry is to start with a large fortune and work from there. It truly is the job I love to hate. No security, no fringe benefits, but I'm doing what I love, and pretty much making a living at it.
Not joining the military is probably the stupidest thing I have ever done. My dad convinced me not to enlist. Thus I gave up a scholarship to Annapolis, and look back on it all and regret it. Even with the way so many of my friends have been treated by the military and the VA, I see a brotherhood between people I love as family and respect greatly that I will never fully understand.
